GRE熟词僻义的考点整理

　　1，account熟词僻意：报道，解释;

　　①account：报道(M-W：a description of facts, conditions, or events)

　　对应真题：

　　Given the flood of information presented by the mass media, the only way for someone to keep abreast of the news is to rely on __________ accounts.

　　(A) synoptic

　　(B) abridged

　　(C)sensational

　　(D) copious

　　(E) lurid

　　(F) understated

　　在这个题目当中，因为空格前面出现了news，空格后面的account在这里当“报道”，

　　②account：解释(a statement explaining one's conduct)

　　对应真题：
