　　解析：病人变的虚弱，所有后面那个好的东西一定没有了，选择E losing。

　　我们来看一下infirm这个词，这个词表示的是因为生病或变老而变的虚弱(Not physically or mentally strong, especially through age or illness:)不是不稳定的意思。

　　答案:E

　　学习一个短语，take cognizance of 或者也可以说take account of, attend to sth. 表示注意到某事。

　　例句：Supposing you are currently an important participant in a vital endeavor, you may gain a lot by taking cognizance of what is uttered by those on the sidelines.

　　这里我们再看一下C选项的substantive，同学们经常区分不开substantiate， substantial ， substantive，substance这四个词。

　　这四个词都来自于拉丁词根substantia 表示essence本质这样一个意思。所以substance 既有物质的意思也有重要性的意思。因此substantive 表示的是独立存在或实质的。substantiate表示证明，substantial表示的是大量的。
