　　【译文】一个这样的全新的想法，是把非此植物的自然组成部分的不相关的基因插入到植物的染色体中;具体来说就是这么一个想法，把一些使得豆科植物能够成为固氮菌寄主的基因(如果它们能够被找到并分离出来的话)插入到非豆科植物的基因中去。因此才出现了对豆科植物的深入研究。
