　　1、经过多次“尝试-错误”人们获得成功

　　The story of Thomas Edison is an apt illustration for this point of view. As we know, before finding the

　　right material of filament for electronic lamp, Edison had tried countless other materials all of which

　　turned out to be failures. However, supported by his persistent effort in combating failure and

　　experiences learned from past mistakes, Edison finally discovered the suitable filament and invented

　　153

　　electronic lamps which was a real boon for people's lives. Therefore, making mistakes is a necessary

　　phase preceding success.

　　2、惧怕错误阻碍前进，积极面对才能成功

　　Alfred Nobel, the famous Sweden chemist, had suffered from mistakes with serious results in his

　　research of explosives. There was a terrible explosion, which caused the death of his younger brother

　　and other four people, in one of his experiments. Though bearing overwhelming sadness, Nobel was

　　not daunted by mistakes that lead to this failure, but was driven to seek a safer way of developing

　　explosives.

　　3、分析错误背后的原因，从错误中学习并积累经验

　　Ford company, the auto industry giant in US, had been confronted with huge failures resulted from

　　errors in its market prediction. The company once launched a type of car called Edsel, which could not

　　enter the market and cost the company millions of dollars. By accepting its mistakes bravely and

　　clarifying the causes of failure, Ford Company realized that it was due to Edsel's unaffordable price to

　　its intended consumers. Thus, Ford Company renovated Edsel and launched a new type called

　　Mustang which was more palatable to the contemporary market and brought the company a

　　prosperous business.

　　一、自从人类开始了解世界。。就从错误中进步，on condition that mistakes are made for the correct purpose.

　　其实whether mistakes make any sense 取决于态度

　　二、Empirical evidence and history lend considerable credence to the claim that mistakes pave the way

　　for success.

　　1.从失败中学习，得到经验，思考为什么，找到解决办法

　　2.由于一个伟大的成功需要大量经验，所以只有通过无数次失败，人们才能看到最后成功的希望

　　3.比如Fleming

　　4. 中国国有企业改革，trial-and-error

　　三、其实是态度问题whether or not mistakes are effective to help get closer to success relies on the

　　attitude toward mistakes, not mistakes themselves.

　　1. 谁想失败?nobody。但错误是成功必经之路mistakes are unavoidable along the way to success.

　　2.犯错之后，为什么有人最终成功而有人fail?因为态度不同

　　3.有些人消极，被失败击倒，不能前进go forward

　　4.遇到错误，我们不能一直depressed，而要在分析原因之后muster courage to confront the next challenge

　　5. 比如爱迪生Edison, the inventor of electric bulb, after tried almost every possible material of the

　　filament, were disappointed but did not give up, and finally found out the appropriate material.

　　四、However, mistakes are not useful even harmful unless they are directed to the goal that human's

　　best interest aims.

　　1.在犯错之前，要搞清crystallize purpose

　　2.如果我们无意识的坚持错误的方向，则counterproductive to progress，甚至对社会有害

　　3. 比如希特勒，带领民众在错误上渐行渐远

　　4.人类社会进步，虽然经历失败，但目标是正确的，于是社会越来越美好

　　① 每个人有合适自己的领域，错误让我们找到合适自己的领域Everyone has one’s own compatible domain,

　　mistakes can help us discover it.

　　② 找到合适的方法Mistakes help us find out what is unworkable and hence we can approach the right

　　③ 不可以为只有错误中才能前进，不可盲目的犯错误。其它方法也可以是我们进步。如：广泛的搜集信息，参考他

　　人的经历;同时正确的态度是未犯错误前多考虑其他方法，犯错误后从错误中学习Fearing making mistakes

　　prevents us from trying new things and taking risks. The right attitude toward mistakes is not to

　　avoid them, but to learn from them.
